THE MUSES OF ILIOS
All Gym Leaders
Each Ilios Gym Leader is themed around a Muse, with their personality and Gym concept reflected in the Pokemon types they use.
Polymnia
Muse of Hymns and Agriculture
Polymnia is a fun-loving gardener who uses her Gym as a refuge for people and Pokemon. Her singing carries through the Gym while she tends the plants around her, fitting her Grass and Bug specialization.
Ourani
Muse of Stone and Sky
Ourani runs a factory in Kalami City that also serves as her Pokemon Gym. She is known as a hard worker who constantly inspects parts and helps around the factory, while also studying the movement of the stars.
Kleio
Muse of the Ancient Past
Kleio is the oldest Gym Leader and is said to see into both the past and future. She studies history books and ancient scrolls to better understand her blurred visions, matching her Ghost and Psychic specialization.
Terpsikore
Muse of Dance
Terpsikore values harmony and leads synchronized dance teams in her spare time. Her Gym reflects that theme by dividing its challenge between physical and mental training, represented by Fighting and Psychic Pokemon.
Euterpe
Muse of Entertainment
Euterpe is known across Myrrini Island for her outgoing personality and love of entertainment. She is also a serious battler, combining Poison and Water Pokemon in her Gym challenge.
Thalia & Melpomene
Twin Muses of Comedy and Tragedy
The twins share a love of theatre but have very different tastes: Thalia prefers comedy while Melpomene favors tragedy. When they coordinate, Thalia uses Electric Pokemon and Melpomene uses Ground Pokemon.
Rhadine
Muse of Love and Poetry
Rhadine is an outgoing Muse who travels around Ilios and is associated with love, hobbies and inspiration. She explores the forests of Kaptara Island and battles with powerful Fire and Flying Pokemon.
Kalliope
Muse of Beauty
Kalliope was once the eighth Gym Leader of the Ilios Region. After Team Chimera took over Areios Town, she disappeared and the eighth Gym was left empty, making this part of the Gym journey closely tied to the Areios storyline.

Normal Mode vs Hard Mode
Pokemon Lazarus lets you change Difficulty Mode from the second page of the Options menu.
Soft level caps

- Most team compositions can progress with some planning for harder fights.
Stronger Gym challenges
- Hard level caps.
- Modified Gym Leader teams.
- Opponents gain extra levels as the game progresses, ending with a +5 level bonus.
- Opponent teams use stronger moves and improved coverage.
